Rover Metro 1990-
  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

    Quite cheap to pick up.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Smooth with a few slight bump. Grips quite good, which is a difference from my 1.4 diesel Rover Metro.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Well performance is great. Quite nippy for a 1.1, with smooth gear changing and the handling is as light as anything.

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very reliable. Only time I have ever broken down in it is when I ran out of petrol, lol.

I have wheeltrims on my Metro, but a set of MPi alloys would look very nice on it, especially as I have the full GTi bodykit and I have had it lowered. Looks very nice.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Is a little comfortable. Could be a lot better. Changed the seats in it today - feels slightly better. Not enough room in the back though and I wish that bloody steering wheel could be adjusted.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

The earlier models e.g. up to the J-reg or even the early K-reg had no security at all, then the standard Rover alarm and immobiliser came into action, which completely changed the car.

  • Problems and Ownership
