  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Used Coopers in fine condition with low mileage can still be quite pricey.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Low insurance group, but this still turns out quite expensive for young drivers.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Fantastic handling, very responsive, no power steering or central locking, but it's never dull to drive, unlike modern most contraptions.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not driven many other cars and with a 1.3 litre engine it's not especially quick, but it doesn't need to be.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

It's never broken down but some of the gadgets did stop working properly (voltmeter and, more importantly, the fuel gauge! Both are easy to fix on your own or at a specialist)

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

It's a Mini Cooper and there will never be anything quite like it again

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Great if you're not tall and don't ever need to sit in the back. I haven't found anything wrong with the "awkward" driving position.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

The alarm and immobiliser came as standard on these models. It could be better but it has not been stolen yet!

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

I have not yet taken it to be serviced, but I will definitely be going to John Cooper to get it done
