Other Saab 9-3 (2002 - 2011) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Very different, if not a little odd? Don't know really, I guess the general perception is that they are for older people in well established professions. I'm a thinker and a perfectionist, does SAAB say that about me? Possibly.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it, not really sure what the car is like as they haven't driven it but most are surprised by the comfort and pace of the engine.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, it's a mile muncher. Absolutely gutted that SAAB couldn't be saved in 2011, NEVS it's most recent owner just isn't the same.

What are you likely to buy next?

A newer model SAAB? If they were still manufacturing them then I wouldn't hesitate to buy again but seen as I can't the only other manufacturer I would consider is Volvo.

Offered the guy £2,000 (was up for £2,400) and he accepted as sold as seen. Was fine by me.

    Had SAAB's before.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Love it. I know exactly where I am at any point. I know the limits and often if I exceed the limits the car will do everything to get you back on track. It's smooth, sturdy and fairly brisk for an estate of just 1.9 ltr, with plenty of torque for when needed. Happily sit at 'ahem' 90 all day with good mpg too.

    What's it like to park?

Easy, rear parking sensors help to guide you in.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Just usual service items, brakes, discs, tyres etc.

What's most practical about your car?

    The boot space.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Nightpanel. I have quite sensitive eyes at times and driving in the dark doesn't help so having the night panel is not only quirky but reduces light glare.
