What does this car say about you?

I like hot hatchbacks but I'm not afraid to try something different.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My wife loves it, she'll use any excuse to get in it!

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, I would want something newer and more fuel efficient but I am impressed by the overall build quality so would probably get something from the Volkswagen Group. The new Fiesta ST still interests me though.

What are you likely to buy next?

Something from the Volkswagen Group or possibly the new Fiesta ST.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,000

When did you buy the car?

    October 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

I believe so as the car has very low mileage and full service history,.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted something faster and more sporty than my piddly 1.2 Renault Clio.

    What was the dealer like?

To be honest, not brilliant, he was up himself and at times he spoke to me as if I was wet behind the ears and he seemed to think I was young and naive. I part exchanged my Clio with him which had outstanding finance that we to be settled by the car loan I had taken out. He said he will settle it and about 5 weeks after I bought the Ibiza I get a letter from Renault Finance saying I am in arrears.... very annoying indeed! Would never buy from him again!

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

It's great fun to drive and really goes like stink! The official 0-60 is 8.1 (or 8.4 depending on what source you use) but I reckon it can do it faster than that and I'm looking for the right road to test it on. The handling will not be the best from a hot hatch but it's enough for me for the time being. The ride is fine to be honest as long as you don't hit any bad potholes or serious bumps, that is when a real jolt is sent through the car. MPG is not great though; I knew it would be lower than my 1.2 Clio naturally but on the last full tank I worked out it did roughly 24-25 MPG and this was through normal driving, not thrashing it but also not driving with light feet. So I'm disappointed in that regard, if fuel economy is your concern buy the diesel.

    What's it like to park?

Absolutely fine, I've had no issues at all. The tyres are low profile so be careful with the rims!!!

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong so far, the wipers and one headlight need replacing but that is just everyday stuff.

What's most practical about your car?

    5 doors, decent sized boot,.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The heated windscreen comes in handy, first car I've had that has this. Also first car I've owned that has electric windows all round so that is also good.
