What does this car say about you?

Everyone knows my day to day car is all about A-B driving at the least possible cost.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Not much really. I get a lot of stick because everyone else chooses the company car option. Personally i'd rather take the £5k allowance and spend less than 2K on a car which is much more economical than the brand new 3 series BM's they are driving. After 3 years (assuming £330 for insurance £100 for tax and £250 for MOT / repairs) i'm. at least 13K up. Personally, I'd rather have 13k than a slightly bigger less economical flash car but that's just me.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes without a doubt. I cannot understand why people buy brand new cars when a bargain like this can be had that does exactly the same. But hey, if no-one bought them new and took the financial hit there would be no used bargains for me ;-).

What are you likely to buy next?

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £1,850

When did you buy the car?

    March 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

I knew exactly what I wanted to pay and what the car was worth. £1850 for a car with 1 owner and 82k on the clock is not bad.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed something more economical for work.

    What was the dealer like?

Really nice guy. Would recommend. Search for All Sorts in Crosby.

    What's it like to drive?

It is nothing like as slow as some people make out. My Dad has the 1.4TDi version and I think this is better to drive round town. It seems to have more power at lower revs and is less inclined to stall. Easily cruises at 80 and nips in and out of traffic quite nicely.

    What's it like to park?

Very easy to park, it's a small car after all.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Has a minor power steeting leak but just sailed through it's MOT. Fantastically reliable.

What's most practical about your car?

The economy by FAR is the best thing about this car. Anyone who is getting less than 60mpg average on any journey longer than 20 minutes in one of these needs to look at the way they drive. I can EASILY get over 70mpg average on a 1 hour 25 mile commute to Manchester. All my motorway journeys are in the 80mpg average zone with my record being 85. 600 miles is easy on a £50 tank.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Its a base Classic. But i can guarantee that when I turn the handle on the drivers door the window goes up and down. More than i can say for the electric button on the Golf we had before!
