Other Skoda Octavia (2013 - 2020) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

That I'm someone that cares about a big boot and decided for a Skoda over a VW or Audi to save a bit of dosh.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all really like it, it's definitely swayed a few peoples opinions on Skoda's.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Definitely, because it has every I need in a car, which is the main reason I bought it.

What are you likely to buy next?

Not sure, I plan to keep this one for at least 8 years. In an ideal world I'd like my next car to be fully electric but have a decent range of at least 350 miles so I can visit my family in Scotland on a single charge.

    Franchised

    £28,000

When did you buy the car?

    May 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

I got a pretty good deal on the price because Skoda had 0% finance on the cars at the time and also I managed to get some money knocked off the list price as well as I bartered with a comparison from www.carwow.co.uk.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

4x4 estate car, plenty of room and high spec.

    What was the dealer like?

Overall they were very good and accommodating, everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

For a big estate car it drives fantastically, the 4x4 system on the car means you can set off the line with all the power any time you want. Also the 4x4 system kicks in when going fast around corners, shifting the power to the inner wheels so it pulls you in. Overall for the size of the car it drives great, its certainly not a sports car but it has plenty of grunt with its 150ps engine and is a dream on the motorway with the cruise control. Overtaking is never a problem on the motorway either, in fact the only problem is that it can be too easy to suddenly be in licence losing territory.

    What's it like to park?

The car has park assist which can do parallel and bay parking, the few times I've used this it has been great. In general the car is really easy to park as it has 360 degree sensors as well as the auto-dipping side mirror makes it a doddle to park such a big car.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No problems with the car so far everything is going great with 8500 miles on the clock.

What's most practical about your car?

The size of the boot and the electric boot struts, makes filling the cavern of a boot a doddle. Great for putting all my allotment gear in!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The infotainment unit is great, it has so many options. Current favourite gadgets are all the heated elements (seats, mirrors, front and rear screens) makes winter mornings a lot more bearable!
