What does this car say about you?
Practical, not a badge snob. Prefer cars to be fit for purpose at minimum cost.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
All have admired its practicality, comfort and all round ability.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, definitely, although I am a little concerned that Skoda have dropped the ground clearance from the 180mm that my MkII scout has to 171mm on the 2014 model. I would have preferred Skoda to have increased the ground clearance to 200mm, not lower it. I would have also liked Skoda to do away with the awful carpet effect on the side walls of the boot and seat backs, for anyone actually using this car for country pastimes and carrying dogs, a harder plastic surface would be easier to clean. All the press seem to be calling the 2014 the second generation model. Not strictly true as there has been 2 versions of the Scout prior to the 2014 model.
What are you likely to buy next?
2014 Octavia Scout if Skoda will do a similar deal to my last one!! The current price of £27k+ for the 2014 Scout DSG 181hp car seems a bit on the high side, before specifying options. They may be overpricing this!!!!!

Did you get a good deal and why?
VAT off car and all options, 50% deposit with remainder interest free over 2 years. Best deal around at the time. So I added sunroof, Xenon headlights, MPI interface, DSG box, leather & Alcantara seats, Electric driver seat with memory and much more.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Winter 4 x 4 capability. Large boot for dogs and sporting equipment, fishing & shooting. ground clearance for off road use. Good economy.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
No complaints at all, fast enough for me and road holding is very good, you can push on on the twisties with confidence. DSG Box makes it relaxing to drive. Comfortable on all surfaces. Great economy in mixed driving average high 40s, on long runs 50 + mpg.
What's it like to park?
Really easy due to good all round visibility and front and rear parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Only 2 issues, wirng loom in heating system replaced under warranty. Alloy wheeels delaminated, not too happy with Skoda as they would only replace 2 under warranty I had to pay for refurb of the other 2 which gave colour matching difficulties to the point where I had to have the 2 new ones painted to match the refurbished ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's most practical about your car?
Boot size, DSG Box, intelligent 4 wheel drive for slippery conditions on and off road. Just enough ground clearance fro off road use.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Look round corner headlights superb night time visibility. DSG Box fantastic for ease of driving on and off road.
