Skoda Octavia Scout (2014 - 2020) 2.0 TDI CR Scout 4x4 5d Owner Review

Octavia Scout purchased 9/2016 to replace a C Class Mercedes estate. Regular trips to the Alps in winter, so wanted a 4 wheel drive capable car. Regular summer trips with 2 road bikes, checked out the Skoda internal bike rack, so now travel with both bikes and all luggage (for 2) in the car with plenty of room to spare, it’s a very specious load carrier with rear seats down. Recent (7/2017) return trip of 1904 miles to Alps and Provence returned average of 51.1mpg, impressive considering much of the journey was at 130kph on French motorway system. Very comfortable car with good seats on long journeys, road noise slightly higher than the previous mercs I have owned, differs greatly depending on road surfaces. SatNav requires update via dealer as self updating on a Mac seems complex (this should be a simple routine - like Garmin updates - and needs sorting). All in all, less stylish looking than the merc but more practical for our needs, very pleased so far.
