Other Suzuki Swift (2005 - 2011) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Being a 3 door model I would say it shows I'm a new driver and haven't realised the limitations of 3 doors!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Smart and fancy, comfortable.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Don't get me wrong it's not bad by any means but my needs have changed and I now need a larger vehicle but that's the sole reason for not buying again. For anyone considering buying, save yourself the aggravation and opt for the 5 door model :).

What are you likely to buy next?

Have since purchased a 99 Ford Focus Estate, and soon to upgrade to a 02 Peugeot 406 Estate.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £9,000

When did you buy the car?

    October 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Very good deal with affordable finance options.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

My mum owned another Suzuki and I saw it at the dealers, looked nice and wanted something new and reliable for commuting to work.

    What was the dealer like?

Professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. Honest about the cars and no hard sell.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Road noise is quite loud but handles well. I did find that in wet weather it skids easily and more often than other cars I've driven since owning the Swift but that may be due to tyres, although every set of tyres I went through had the same issue and not all were budget brands.

    What's it like to park?

Easy especially for a beginner at driving. Can fit in very tight spaces that would normally only fit a classic Mini.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only several crashes, due to being my first car after passing my test it was bound to happen.

What's most practical about your car?

Small, economical, cheap tax and insurance.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Stereo, great sound from a factory head unit. There's not so many bells and whistles as other cars.
