  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

    Clever, stylish, thougtful purchase.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Funky, fun and loads of room. I've not met anyone who doesn't approve!

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would love to try the diesel and get one with alloys and air con

What are you likely to buy next?

No idea at this stage. My partner is more inclined to buy a big car so I would be quite happy with a similiar car or another Swift with a higher spec to what I have now

  • Buying experience

    2 out of 5 2.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,750

When did you buy the car?

    October 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

Was offered peanuts for my old 1998 Megane but wasn't expecting much, got further £250 off price to £6750. Cheapest Swift for 50 miles so went to them.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Cheaper than rivals. Great styling. Stands out from other manufacturers efforts in competitive market. Reasonable trim at entry level. Minority franchise, higher customer values. Rarely seen on road, has air of individuality

    What was the dealer like?

Nice site, relatively new build, has sister Mitsubishi site across the road. Sales Executive was friendly and helpful. Business Manager showed a little lack of organisation and slow paperwork!

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Excellent to drive, has poise and pwer on the road, gives you confidence when cornering. You have to rev the gears and change later than you may be used to otherwise 4th and 5th will struggle.

    What's it like to park?

Easy peasy! Small car, quite heavy when dry steering but otherwise its a doddle!

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

1st gear whines a lot. And in 5th gear the engine can make a whistling noise. Radio has potential to scratch easily on the screen and needle lights on dash for fuel and temp gauge occasionally don't work! Storage pockets in drivers and passenger doors are too small.

What's most practical about your car?

Loads of room in rear seats! Swallowed up 4 adults and our referee kits to go to a football game last Saturday! Storage in centre console is ideal and looks after all essentials.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

At night time the dashboard lighting is excellent, really appeals and makes the car look bigger and much more expensive. Steering wheel stereo controls are good also although the stereo isn't the greatest sound quality
