In their own words

When my yearly mileage fell from 15000 miles to 5000 miles I could no longer justify 2 cars, a sensible, practical car and an MX5. I still wanted something with practicality and low running costs but was still fun to drive which led me to the mk1 Swift Sport. It's been a great experience, great handling, very reliable, not fast but enough power to be fun. I would highly recommend if you don't do big mileage. I wouldn't recommend if you do a lot of motorway driving as the short gearing means you are at high cruising revs and there are only 5 gears, also the suspension is quite firm which can get tiring but is great for cornering. The keyless entry and start as well as the automatic climate control were also surprisingly welcome features, rare for a car like this. I have since sold it and replaced it with a 2009 Civic Type R which provides a similar experience, just bigger, heavier, more power and more features but with around 30% higher running costs. I would still highly recommend the Swift if you're looking for a car of that size or if you're a younger driver.
