Toyota Carina 'E' Saloon 1992-
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good value for money, all the toys you want. I chose an earlier model because I dont like air-con, totally superfluous in this country I reckon.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Toyota bits aren't cheap but you don't need many of them. Biggest cost I've had in four years was £130 for a timing belt at 70,000 miles.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

I've got Michelins all round and it handles well, feels safe and sure, never had any dramas.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

This car really shifts, forget your hot hatches a real wolf in sheeps clothing, now the engine is well run in it goes a lot quicker than the official 0-60 time of 8.8 secs, easily capable of 130mph.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

No probs at all, just had to buy standard consumables like tyres, pads etc…
