Toyota Highlander review (2021)

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Believe it or not, there are not many seven seat, SUVs that tick all the boxes. Pricing, maintenance cost, reliability, practically. Actual usable seats and good MPG. I didn’t want a diesel as that’s a bit of a taboo right now, this hybrid has been fantastic on my 20 mile round trip commute to work. Local roads and A roads and get on average 45 mpg, higher than the claimed figures. It’s practical, has all the toys you could want. Heated seats, steering wheel were especially nice in the winter months. Toyota safety kit is awesome. I looked at other SUVs but they couldn’t match the highlander on many fronts. They are also quite rare which adds to the kudos of owning one. It seems to be built like a tank so hoping to have many years and miles of trouble fee motoring if Toyota lives up to their reputation.

How reliable do you find the car?

No mechanical faults (he says nervously) just two recalls had to be carried out. ESP and Airbag related.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

It’s spacious, kitted out, comfortable and has done many road trips with the family. No complaints.
