Economy
Value
Good residuals. Well equipped with ABS, CD player, deadlocks and air con as standard. Can cost more than rivals, but quality is never cheap.
Costs
Fixed Menu servicing good. Annoying experience of some dealers trying to charge for extras which I didn't need or ask for. Superb economy, see no point in going for diesel version, it is that good.

On the road
Driving
No way a driver's car, but can be fun and cheeky to drive. A touch boomy at motorway speeds, ride can be bouncy over poor surfaces with roll in tight corners. Light clutch and slick gear change.
Performance
Nippy rather than fast, no hot hatch. Engine lacks torque from rest, but sweet engine revs well. Once on the move, can be surprisingly peppy. Great for darting about town. Will choose T-Sport next time.

Reliability
Have not owned vehicle for long, but based on previous experience of other Toyotas I have owned, should be pretty faultless.

A sound purchase that your folks would approve of, so lacks some cred, but looks smart in SR trim with alloys, rear spoiler and sporty exhuast trim. Choose metallic paint over plain colours.
Comfort
Roomy cabin is better quality than some magazines suggest. Controls logical and easy to use, seats lack lateral support, stowage impressive, 5 cups holders and 7 storage areas. Stereo controls a stretch.

Remote locking, unique stereo, security stickers, locking wheelnuts and deadlocks good for the class.
Service
Customer care very inconsistent across dealers. Some dealers don't wash your car when serviced and charge for extras you don't need; others very helpful and courteous.
