  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

It says I could wash it more often... other than that, that I enjoy driving, don't have a large family or too much luggage!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Never asked.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes... it's been pretty good, so if I could find another with low mileage...

What are you likely to buy next?

No idea... something similar I'd imagine, at least in terms of size and image... tho if by the time I buy again, there are good greener options, not too expensive and cheaper to run, I'd go for that.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,000

When did you buy the car?

    May 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think it was a reasonable deal and I got part-exchange for a car whose MOT was running out next day and would have failed.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Reliability, comfort, relatively light clutch pedal.

    What was the dealer like?

OK, really. I'd tried out quite a few different Yaris's by then, and they made an effort to find one I was ok with.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Good. Nippy, small, cruises easily on motorway despite being small, quick getaway at traffic lights, good in town.

    What's it like to park?

Good - tight turning circle, good for u-turns!

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Strangely enough the first year it had lots of little niggles, despite its reliability rating - but they were all fixed under the guarantee, and since then it's been pretty good - only expensive thing to fix was replacing a wheel bearing, I think. Oh, and most recently the hydraulics on the boot got ever less efficient, so had to have that sorted before they died.

What's most practical about your car?

Nippy, small to park, light, quite good on petrol consumption.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Nothing in particular, engine size I guess, I hear the 1:1 engine isn't so fun to drive. Nice to have a sunroof tho I don't actually use it much.
