  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

Erm, sensible - not a show off.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all love it - more than i do.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, i might have gone for a used SR model if i was buying now. Its just not sporty enough - no fun to drive.

What are you likely to buy next?

Unsure - i want something faster and better looking (but that doesn't cost the earth to insure and run). Mazda RX8, maybe a Vauxhall VX220 NA. The Chrysler Crossfire seems a good used buy. You can pick up any of these for about £7500 at the moment.

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £9,295

When did you buy the car?

    August 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes after a lot of initial hassle at the dealership. 1.3 TR is the best model to go for as it includes well over £1000 worth of extra over the T3. Got metallic paint, mats and mudflaps all free.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Safety, very cheap to run, reliability. Innovative dashboard styling.

    What was the dealer like?

The original man i dealt with was awful, young, extremely cocky and inexperienced- i guess that can happen anywhere though. However Toyota dealerships as a whole have been excellent.

  • Driving it

    2 out of 5 2.0

    What's it like to drive?

I'm used to driving faster cars, with sports suspension. This car is safe and practical - but it has no soul at all. The body roll is really very, very bad- It gives you no confidence at all at speed in the corners. However this vehicle is hardly aimed at boy racers.

    What's it like to park?

Easy to park and drive. Sometimes i wonder how i actually got in some of those spaces.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

    Nothing, absolutely solid.

What's most practical about your car?

The hidden glove compartments on the dash and elsewhere, easy access to boot. Air con is useful. Visibility is excellent.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The dashboard as a whole, very different and you get used to it very quickly.
