    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not cheap, but good value for the quality of the car.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Good fuel economy, cheap insurance and strong residuals.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Good fun to drive - the T-sport's wider wheels and stiffened sports suspension give excellent handling. Good visibility and easy to manoeuvre around town.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

The VVTi engine combined with the T-sport's close ratio gearbox work well. Acceleration is good - plenty of power for overtaking.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

30,000 miles of trouble-free motoring so far - seems very well built.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

The T-sport bodystyling really helps it stand out from a regular Yaris. Not quite as exclusive as they used to be - people used to ask what it was in the petrol station when I first owned the car.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Comfortable seats, although the ride is fairly harsh and the engine is noisy on the motorway. The ride and noise are worth putting up with for the sports suspension and close ratio gearbox, though.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Deadlocks, alarm and immobiliser. Should be adequate.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

Toyota after-sales service has been very good.

  • Problems and Ownership

Paint finish is fairly soft, which leads to lots of stone chips on the bonnet.
