In their own words

Being a badge snob I nearly chose a BMW i3. Glad I didn't! I love the car's looks and rarity. I haven't seen another since I bought it. It's currently 1800 miles since I reset the trip meter and I've only used 1.2 gallons of fuel. My commute is 9 miles each way and a little bit of running around such as the school run and shopping of say an extra 10 miles all on one charge in the bitter cold we're having. I'm fully expecting 40 miles plus battery range as the temperatures rise. If your commute is 20 to 30 miles each way and you can charge it at work you may never need to visit a filling station again! If you need to go further on a full tank of petrol you can travel an extra 310 miles so a theoretical range of 350 miles plus. The car is very well made with a superb Bose Stereo but the sat nav is not so good! Only seats four but I knew that when I bought it. Swift and silent with decent handling and a good size boot. No reliability issues to date. Just make sure you get one with a full and on time Vauxhall Ampera dealer service history to benefit from the 8 year 100,000 mile electric drive train warranty. This was a £40000 car new and that's the only reason it didn't sell. Very much over-engineered and with a bullet proof reputation for reliability. If you can overcome your badge snobbery as I have, buy one. They are brilliant cars!
