Vauxhall Corsa Hatchback (1993 - 2000) 1.4 16V GLS 5d Auto Owner Review

The biggest let-down with this car was definitely the inordinately high fuel consumption. 25mpg (and sometimes even lower) is something you expect from an 8-cylinder performance car. This gives a range of around 200 miles, perhaps 225 miles on a full tank. My car is actually the 1997 model because I have an Opel version rather than Vauxhall. I only kept it because I hardly ever use a car preferring to commute by motorcycle, on foot, by bicycle, by bus, bum a lift, stay at home, etc., rather than using a car - hence the 58,000 miles in over 22 years! In terms of build quality, I found it surprisingly good. The rust is starting to show prominently now but what can one expect from a car that has never seen the inside of my garage? Another thing I like about this car is the lack of buttons and silly, pointless controls that you only use in the first week. Pedals, a steering wheel, lights and indicators and very little else to go wrong.
