  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Bought mine for £450 and it had done 124631 miles. Sound bodywork but I've not had much luck mechanically, even though it was sweet as when I bought it.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

VW only charge me £60 an hour because it's an old banger and I suppose the genuine parts aren't too bad in the scheme of things.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

A nice enough car to drive. Slightly confused as to how the suspension is so hard in towns but how it leans so much round corners.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

It's quicker than a friend of mine's BMW (E36) 316i away from the lights, but that's not saying much... and not really what I want it for.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Starts first time every time but I have had some very frustrating little problems over the last couple of weeks.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Some people I know like it and some people I know hate it... I think it's the coolest car in the employee's car park at work.

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

I've tried every conceivable position on the seat and can't get comfortable.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

Mine's got an aftermarket immobiliser on it.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Every time I take it in it comes back with a new problem... When I question what they've done to my car they say ""it's an old car, we've just disturbed it"" before taking huge amounts of cash off me.
