When we bought the car new from our nearest volkswagen dealer I had a 1, 3 and 5yr old so it was very easy getting them in and out of the back. My son shared it with me when he was learning to drive and he found it easy to drive. It is a very practical and fits flat pack items from Ikea. with the seats down it's like a van. My husband enjoys driving it and it acelarates well it can be a big sluggish at low speeds though. It was a bit of a pain when the gearbox went which I think is a common issue in the mk4. I recommend this car but check out the rivals eg vauxhaul astra
How reliable do you find the car?
The gearbox went in 2009 but it was easily fixed although the cost was quite expensiveDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
I couldn't believe it at the time. I was thrilled as my older golf mk3 didn't have a cd player.About their car
