What does this car say about you?
Understatment - it's not a flash car like the GTi but with 170bhp it's nearly as fast
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all want to drive it!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes - this is the 6th VW and the 4th Golf. We've tried Audi, BMW and keep coming back to VW. Even though we've had a few problems they've all been sorted under warranty so not an issue.
What are you likely to buy next?
Golf? Scirrocco? Passat CC? Probably another Golf...

Did you get a good deal and why?
Pretty good deal - the car had a spec including sat nav, iPod and DSG box. Only 6 months old at the time and original cost £22k +
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Always bought VW Golfs, but wanted an auto with some oomph
What was the dealer like?
Rubbish. Very slovenly - only decided to buy the car as it was a genuine VW dealer

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Superb. Pull in every gear, smooth, no roll and not at all hard over bumps given the lowered suspension and wider tyres.
What's it like to park?
Easy - it's not very long

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Lots of niggles: new techtronic brain for DSG box, rear cup holder keeps collapsing, new rear suspension - all sorted under warranty, but still love the car!
What's most practical about your car?
It's a family hatch at heart, but it looks great and goes like stink
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
DSG box - it's incredibly fast and there's a sports option if you're feeling like a boy racer
