Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, absolutely - it's very comfortable, practical, well made, 100% reliable and easy to live with. Would just make sure I had a turbo diesel or proper petrol one next time so I didn't get overtaken by cyclists on hills..

What's it like to drive?

Lovely - only drawback is a complete absence of power but it's a diesel with no turbo so that's hardly a surprise. Clutch & gearbox smooth as warm syrup, best I've ever tried. Very stable on the motorway. Ride, handling & brakes all perfectly judged..

Easy!!

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only 1 fault in 18 months and 30k miles - a glow plug went and was replaced under warranty without any quibbles. Dealer (VW in Chester) was and continues to be absolutely superb in every way. Customer service is still in notoriously short supply in the motor trade but this dealer is a shining exception to the rule...

What's most practical about your car?

Everything - it's a 5 door hatchback, what more does anyone need? Unless you've got more than 3 kids!!

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Not really - it's base model so air con and a CD player is your lot really!
