Cheap, as car it had 110,000 miles on the clock.

    Costs

Measured consumption at 52.4 mpg! Insurance could be cheaper though.

Handles well, not as good as Peugeot 405 or 406 estates though.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Quick enough - engine runs like new.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

I had to replace both rear wheel bearings within a a couple of hundred miles, indicating that they have a definite design life (about 110,000 miles?)

Good build quality, but electric windows/central locking a bit dodgy. Car looks OK in an understated sort of way. When your Montego Countryman 2.0 turbodiesel has rusted away look for one of these!

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good ride, comfortable seats, quiet apart from tickover.

Don't know, but as I said above, cental locking a bit suspect.
