What does this car say about you?

I now have kids, and need a 'family' car.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it a big, spacious car. Wwith the right mate in it the phrase 'damnright quick' has been used.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. I suspect that the new common rail diesel engine is quite a bit more refined than my PD unit.

Not in the market at present.

Did you get a good deal and why?

This car (with a good bit of haggling) cost about 40% less than its list price after just one year!!!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a big car for a growing family!

What was the dealer like?

L J Sheppard (main VW dealer) in Bishop's Storford couldn't be faulted for their attitude and overall service.

What's it like to drive?

With 170 bhp & 350 nm of torque on tap it goesn't hang around! It does suffer from a bit of turbo lag; I didn't experience this in my previous Golf MK5 TDI 140. Unlike the 140 TDI the 170 just pulls to the red line. Joining a motorway froma slip road is just a pleasure!

What's it like to park?

Impossible! I had to fit reverse parking sensors almost the minute I got it home from the dealer.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) sensor (fixed under warranty).

What's most practical about your car?

The mammoth boot space.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The eight-speaker stereo plays MP3 files from CD.
