Steering is overlight gearbox grouchy especially when warm

Nippy, but 75 bhp from a 1.4 engine is nothing special and the engine is harsh if you venture into the upper rev range

Reliability
Diabolical - has broken down almost weekly and so far has baffled both the garge it was purchased from and the VW dealer called in to help.

VW has a perceived image of quality, but it is in my opinion, only perceived. The interior is well finished.
Comfort
Good seats and it rides well. Well geared for a small car for the motorway

Engine
Electronics have created havoc, cutting the engine out in the middle lane of a busy motorway and stranding my wife miles from home.

I'm sorry I ever bought this car, I should have had more regard to the Which? Report and i'll never buy a VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda or other VW product again. If everything was as reliable as a Volkswagen we'd all be using the bus.
