They are expensive to buy but it's well worth the extra as it will hold it's value.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent. Fuel consumption average is 45mpg, even if you like to put your foot down. Parts & servicing are reasonable for a German car.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

The ride can be a bit harsh at times due to the sports suspension, but handling is good.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

For a 100bhp car, performance is brilliant, power is instantly available with virtually no turbo lag. It's quicker than my old Golf GTI although it could do with traction control, as it does wheel spin in 3rd gear when wet.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

No problems as yet although the dashboard sometimes rattles but this is hardly a reliability issue
