Did you get a good deal and why?

The VW dealer where we bought the car had a demonstrator, gave a good part exhange on a 3 year old Multipla with 90k miles on it, and discounted the new Touran. Another VW dealer refused offer either discount, or part exchange and was unable to arrange a demonstrator.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

DSG gearbox, nice diesel engine, spacious interior and good driving position

    What was the dealer like?

Very good. Servicing is surprisingly cheap. It's on the "computer service interval" scheme and requires servicing about once per 18/19k miles. The dealer always arranges a loan car while it's in for service or repair, usually one with a DSG gearbox.

    What's it like to drive?

Not bad for a people carrier. Steering is automatically weighted for parking / town / motorway use. Cruises on the motorway very comfortably. Cabin noise is very dependent on road surface quality.

    What's it like to park?

OK. Good visibility all round, if you stretch to look. A pillars are obstructive.
