who cares!! I am not into badges but at £21,000 OTR its not a cheap make. VW is moving into Audi and BMW ground now

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

no idea I dont ask My 16 year old thinks its cool in sporty black and alloys!! so i guess that's a plus

Would you buy this car again and why?

yes, this is my second (had a 2.0 tdi SE 04 plate first) Only negative is no spare. This is now common on many makes. Had to be rescued by tow truck in the last one after tyre tread broke up rendering sealer useless

Did you get a good deal and why?

Company lease car (GE) so i have no input. Car turned up on drive when agreed!! shame Gordon takes his cut of the list price ouch!!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Had a previous 2.0TDI SE Touran for 2 1/2 years and 100k miles and it was great to drive

What was the dealer like?

My servicing dealer is Arthur Prince at Loughborough and they are good and very customer focused. I have been taking this and previous Touran there for last 3 years (first VW garage I tried was appalling and unhelpfull)

What's it like to drive?

As mentioned, brilliant. Its a pocket rocket with Tardis qualities. Looks much smaller on outside than in. Only complaint is rear seats are bit hard. As a driver though, I can drive for 7 hours up to scotland and still feel fine and ok to work.140 bhp diesel is very potent with low down torque at anything over 1300 rpm so you can be in 6th at 35 mph. hardly ever drop gears to overtake Done 23k miles now and average is 47mpg best 54 mpg worst 37 mpg.

What's it like to park?

Fairly easy, rear hard to judge like most modern cars.Wife has no issue with it.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only had VW recall for 2 days work on flywheel oil leak. Dealer repaired in time quoted no problem Had its first service at 18k (all mine on the previous Touran 2.0 TDI have also worked out at 18k miles for "variable" service. This is every 5 months for me.) uses about 1 lite oil every 6,000 miles. previous used 1 litre per 2,000 miles

What's most practical about your car?

"comand " driving position as per SUV. Brilliant road holding, no body roll very quick and manouverable for overtaking. Cruise control soaks up miles on motorways and "A" roads. Feel lost without it now. Also does 46-51 MPG at 70 on the mway or normsal roads. 6th gear makes engine quiet at cruising speed. I can keep all my work tools in the back, and the wife can still get the shopping in on top!! Headroom is great, my 6 foot son gets no where near the roof in the back or front

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

cruise control. wouldnt go back to the gas pedal!! set and forget in speed limits, even 30 mph urban limits. No worry about speed cams!!!!
