Value
'Dull' image means that buying 2nd hand is amazingly cheap. GS model has good spec.
Costs
Have had well over 50mpg on a run (and I stayed below 70mph, would have been more). Parts are cheaper than other Volvo models, and in over 1yr has cost me next to nothing.

Driving
Comfortable, safe, pleasant to drive.
Performance
French TD engine is much quicker than its 93bhp suggests. Almost 'rapid' acceleration.

Has never failed to start engine doesn't burn oil or lose water after 150k miles.

'Family' man / accountant, but if you want cheap reliable motoring, you could do far worse.
Comfort
Comfortable to drive on a long journey.

Immobiliser works well, but it is not a car would appeal to your average ram-raider!
Service
Haven't needed to use Volvo. Use local mechanic for service / MOT.
