What does this car say about you?

It says that were a practical family who like a bit of fire under the engine sometimes.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They find it very good looking and my nan finds it very comfortable for going up to Surrey four times a year.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I wouldn't buy this car again because I didn't like it so much.

What are you likely to buy next?

Probably a Mercedes Benz E-Class Estate. I would also like to mention that there is a fault with this site because the Volvo 960 was produced from 1994-1996 and then replaced by the V90 from 1996-1998.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,012

When did you buy the car?

    May 2005

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think we got a good deal from £4,600 to rougly £4,000 mainly because my dad is good at bartering.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

We needed a large estate car for my family and our dalmatian. We needed a car that would be able to go on long journeys and that was a workhorse which we knew Volvo estates were having three before this model.

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer was ok, middle-aged, glasses etc who was a fairly tough nut to crack.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very easy because of the PAS and typical Volvo lock.

    What's it like to park?

Very simple again but it is a long vehicle.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The only problem we had with it were tyres and that's after two years. It is also very low-lying and we would always catch the mudguards at the front or the skirting when going in dips, etc.

What's most practical about your car?

The comfort is very nice and I suppose the boot space is very spacous. A neat thing that was included was that the middle seat in the back row could be an armrest, a booster seat and an adults seat.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I did like that there were buttons located by the gear stick for different modes. There was a 'sport' mode, a 'winter' mode and an 'economical' mode. We mainly had it on economical mode for a reason what with a 3.0 litre 24 valve engine.
