What does this car say about you?

    Stylish and safe.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My partner enjoys driving it and finds it easier to drive than her Fiesta. 4 of my colleagues have subsequently bought Volvos as a result of looking at, or driving mine.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. Good looking, reliable car. However for increased ride comfort I may opt for a different variant as opposed to the R-Design.

What are you likely to buy next?

Another Volvo, or possible back to Jaguar.

    What's it like to drive?

The diesel engine provides plenty of low end torque. Not as quick as some of its class rivals and the steering could benefit from a little more feedback. The R-Design suspension works well through the corners although it can be a little hard on poorly surfaced roads. Motorway driving is quiet and comfortable. On longer runs at a steady 70-75mph using cruise control it returns in excess of 50mpg. The automatic gearbox is smooth and seamless, but on twisting roads where several gear changes are needed the semi-automatic "geartronic" selection provides a quicker response.

    What's it like to park?

Very easy to reverse park, however because of the low swept bonnet, the front corners take a while to judge clearance.

Have you had any problems with the car?

    Nothing to date.

What's most practical about your car?

The new smaller S60 is better around town than its predecessor, yet it still feels safe, and is big enough to handle the longer trips in comfort. My only criticism is that although the S60 has a large boot for its size, the aperture for placing items in the boot is rather small.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The speed limiter has proven very useful around the local area where there is an abundance of speed cameras and mobile speed camera vans.
