In their own words

The nicest car I have ever had. Comfortable and refined with a decent build quality. The engine is a bit agricultural and not so smooth as others being particularly like a bread van when cold. The electronic wizardry is impressive but let down badly by being very unreliable. The back up from Volvo is pitiful. For a simple seat collapse (after not so many miles) took 5 visits to the dealer before a modified seat was fitted! Volvo said there was no problem and the dealer could not find the fault in spite of being shown the symptoms clearly! I am on first name terms with the dealer workshop staff and have only had it serviced twice! I think the car can drive itself to the dealer as it is there a lot of the time. I struggle to do any better than 40mpg and I use the car in "Eco" mode all the time. Unnecessarily low profile tyres on a car which cannot be classed as a performance car is an irritation with the number of potholes on today's roads as I seem to burst tyres frequently! The leather quality of the seats is below that of competitors with the seat bolster on the driver seat showing extreme wear after 36000 miles. It is a lovely car to be in and a lovely ride. It is not a sports car, it is a gentleman's cruiser. It is refined and pleasant but I spend all my time waiting for the next fault to crop up! Each time resulting in an hour at the dealership getting a software upgrade!!! The phone app is a great idea but again this is so intermittent it cannot be relied upon. Keyless entry is intermittent and perhaps needs to be renamed Entryless Key! When you are stood in the rain with a car that will not unlock you get very frustrated, especially when it's intermittent nature means the dealer cannot replicate it. Myriad error message while driving telling you to either stop now, or go straight to the dealer! This ranges from airbag faults to brake faults to charging faults. None of them are faults and the dealer's normal response on the phone is switch the car off and wait a few moments and restart it! Sometimes this works but if you get a message telling you to "Stop Safely" whilst on the motorway this is not the easiest fix! Volvo seem to completely ignore their faults until you throw your toys out of the pram. Then they fix it or find an excuse as to why it isn't their problem! I went for this after having a seemingly bomb-proof S80 and have been bitterly disappointed. Nice Car Mr Volvo but it needs to be made so it works most of the time if not all the time. I will not be having another Volvo.
