Why did these not sell better? A far better car than German rivals (drove a relative's C200 Mercedes which was an appalling car to drive by comparison with dreadful ride and an automatic transmission that took so long to respond you thought it was never going to do anything). Ride is excellent as is performance. Well equipped and 5 cylinder engine actually makes a decent noise for a diesel. Shame Alfa didn't develop this further and use it in the Giulia - a massive missed opportunity. Car has covered 106,000 miles of which I've done 12,000 in it. It has, so far, performed faultlessly and is always enjoyable to drive. Only minor irritations as the ventilation system which turns on the air con at will (probably part of the gimmicky AQS system) and can't fully manually override the auto box. Will not allow you to go into 4th gear at 30mph meaning economy suffers.
How reliable do you find the car?
Considering mileage car has been relatively trouble free. Only issue was failing water pump that was replaced under warranty (must have been faulty from new as only lasted 9 months)Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Better mpg than expected, performance better than expected. Rides well and plenty of space.About their car
