Value
It's my 2nd 166 - you just don't get the same level of gadgets for the same money anywhere else. And I like gadgets.
Costs
Depends what you're expecting; it's Alfa's top car and with all the stuff in it, it costs BUT doesn't all go wrong as Alfas of old would.

On the road
Driving
Back end seems a bit bouncy. Steering is wonderful.
Performance
Takes a bit of revving, but as the revs rise the car just goes whoosh. Auto box needs another gear though; power comes in up the rev range and unless you go to the red line it drops out of power changing up.

Annoying fault with air con, but otherwise tip top.

Front is starting to look a little dated, especially as I've seen shots of the facelift. But I still bloody love it.
Comfort
Almost enough headroom and seats not quite hugging enough or soft enough, but very good.
