• Summary

What does this car say about you?

I love cars with style and it for me it's more than getting from a to b.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I get the odd Alfa reliability jibe from friends but they still acknowledge how stylish and well equipped it is. Most people think it's much more expensive than it really is. Still turns heads on the road as you rarely see a GT.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. Though I would probably go for the 1.9 Diesel Q2 option. Better 10mpg more than I currently get (33mp) and from what I understand a comparable drive.

What are you likely to buy next?

Would love to stick with Alfa now I'm converted but the current mini, hatchback and saloon range is leaving me a little cold. Maybe a last run 2010 GT!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £10,999

When did you buy the car?

    June 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Having kept an eye on used GT prices over the last 18 months, I do feel I overpaid by £500-1000. This could be more to do with slightly lower / falling prices generally due to the economy.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

I find it does need to be driven hard to get the best out of it in lower gears (high revs) but still has great power in 4th and 5th. Corners very well and grips the road firmly. Suspension isn't great though - you will feel every bump.

    What's it like to park?

Not easy though fine once you get used to it. Not a car for an inexperienced driver generally. Parking sensors are a huge bonus.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only a few small niggles in 18 months of ownership - parking sensors tend to act stangely in cold weather and have had to replace a dimmed headlight bulb. A slight rattle from the tailgate on occasion but otherwise great.

What's most practical about your car?

Good space in the boot and the rear can comfortably seat two adults. The car really isn't about practicality though.....

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Great trim level as standard - love the Cruise Control, Dual Zone Climate Control and BOSE sound system.
