  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

I guess it would say that I drive an Audi.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Nobody has a bad word to say about it. It's a pleasant looking car

Would you buy this car again and why?

It's a great car, but I wouldn't get a 1.9 TDi again. Just a little too slow. The 2.0 143 Bhp engine would be perfect.

What are you likely to buy next?

    2009MY Audi A4 Avant SE 143 Bhp.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

The handling is reasonably good in the dry, but terrible in the snow. The ride quality is good and it's reasonably quiet despite the engine. The engine is the 110 bhp unit which is totally underpowered. You can sit all day at 70 mph, but to go any faster you really have to flog it. Overtaking, except with a lot of distance, is also a fairly fruitless exercise. On the flip side, I get around 51 mpg from it. The cabin is airy and well designed, the steering and controls are light and it's an easy and comfortable car to drive. It's a pleasant place to be.

    What's it like to park?

For some reason I am unable to judge the length of the car - hence I do find it difficult. But it shouldn't be.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only major issue was a replacement clutch and flywheel at about 42000 miles. Seems a little premature really.

What's most practical about your car?

I wouldn't say it's especially practical. Just like any estate, you can get more in it than a saloon.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The cruise control is a real boon. Other than that it's fairly light on gadgets... I also replaced the frankly terrible stereo with an Alpine head unit which sounds a lot better than the standard unit.
