In their own words

Having bought the car in August of 2019 with 73k and full service history, these are my impressions after 4k miles. Reliability: There have been a few niggles/issues but in general are just wear and tear items and nothing serious. Turbo pressure release valve failed at 73k lack of power and whooshing sound. Thermostat failure, engine not reaching correct operating temperature of 90c on gauge. Quite involved in terms of labor 3-4h. Check on test drive. Cam cover leak, new gasket. Rear caliper seized on. Driver window switch failure. Doors jam when Icy outside, caused by the window freezing in the up position. No cure for this other than patients and pressing on the window and using deicer, is the only way to get in. A frustrating design flaw. Engine: One of the main reasons for buying the car was the performance the 2.0 tfsi engine provides, the same lump found in the Mk5 Golf GTi. Stock it's punchy and usable due to the amount of torque available from low rpm, infact so much so I thought it had been remapped. After about 2 months of ownership I decided to add a performance intake and took to the guys at R-tech performance for a stage 1 map. Luckily the initial runs on the dyno confirmed it was stock and produced 218hp and 230flbs the car then went on to make a healthy 258hp and 282flbs and it transformed the car. Driveability: The TT is a pleasure to drive with weighty precise steering albeit lacking in feel, usual electric affair then. Handling: The chassis in front wheel drive S-line configuration provides good feedback on 245 40 18 tyres however it does push into understeer and isn't very adjustable at the limit, a Audi characteristic. Being a powerful fwd it will also be challenging to use all it's power in the first two gears especially tuned, however I find this entertaining and challenging. Some may find this tiring and opt for a quattro version. I hope you enjoyed reading this honest performance orientated review.
