Picked up mine for £2700 with 84k on the clock and full BMW service history, for the average price of a Fiesta you cant beat this.
Costs
Parts can be costly, fuel consumption could be better, 30mpg average, but good on motorways.

Superb car to drive, lots of feel from the steering, a joy to use.
Performance
Will keep all but the petrol heads happy, rapid acceleration in high revs.

Hasn't let me down or failed to start once.

Nicest looking style of BMW from the E36 range, I have new alloys that are seen on the 320d's, these add a nice touch. Its a BMW , say no more.
Comfort
No complaints, drive 140 miles every 2 weekends and don't feel it.
