Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

I thought that the car looked great, it sounded great and it was fun to drive (which is why I'd recommend it despite the problems). It had a pretty small fuel tank so range was typically 200 miles between refills. I just expected so much better from a marque like BMW. Paying thousands and having problems recur, with new problems popping up ruined the experience for me. I did own a BMW 320dSE shortly thereafter. Its electrics were also very poor, unfortunately.

How reliable do you find the car?

Most of the issues involved the electrics. I had expected a BMW to be more reliable. When I purchased the car, I left it with a BMW-approved dealer to have the seals replaced on the soft top. Thereafter the power top only worked occasionally; despite many visits, this problem was never resolved. I ended up disengaging the motor and opering the hood manually.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

From the moment the key was turned and the 2.8L straight six roared into life, it was a joy to drive. However, the enjoyment was tarnished by the regularly-failing electrics and multiple, expensive, visits to BMW.
