  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

Hopefully says cool. as i always thought of being perceived this way. I had alloys on my car, and always washed/waxed it so the black paintwork looked great.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

The car is really small, fitting 4 people in the car is a struggle with the two front seats having to be pushed forward. The majority of the time it is being used as a two seater. The car is a fun car.

Would you buy this car again and why?

If i was 18 yes, as the car is very cheap and economically easy to run. Over 23 years old, there is much better small hatches available on the market that would be best suited.

What are you likely to buy next?

My Next car is likely to be a Honda Civic.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £6,000

When did you buy the car?

    August 2004

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, I managed to get the car that was the demo model and had 4000 miles on the clock, at a very good price. The car had some extras on it being the showroom vehicle.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Growing up I always wanted a Citroen Saxo, when I was old enough to drive the C2 was the "new" saxo.

    What was the dealer like?

Very helpful, they helped me out with finance and all the deposit options available as well as monthly payments.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

The 1.1i engine is nippy, with slow build up speed and will struggle going over 70MPH on motorways, ideally its safe. Fuel consumption is great.

    What's it like to park?

The small size makes parking really easy and controllable. This car can squeeze into any small sized space that most small hatches would struggle with.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Unfortunately yes. 7 Months after having the car the engine sensor was affected after i had the car washed (the wash wash a drive through which cleaned underneath the car and the wheel arches) I was driving along the road and the car would randomly switch off without warning, this was very dangerous a few times when i was on a high speed road. I complained to the dealers and they replaced the sensor and told me the reason why it happened. That was the only problem within the first 3 years. After 3 years I have had to replace coil packs (sometimes twice a year). Replace the power steering pump (as the car would automatically full lock to the right without holding the wheel) and the head gasket had failed me and needed replaced (when the car was 8years old, 55000 miles).

What's most practical about your car?

This was my first car, the insurance is a group 1. and i have had a very good insurance deal every year. Very happy with the prices. Fuel Consumption is also very good being a 1.1i sometimes 60 - 65MPG if watching your driving style. It makes the car very affordable for younger drivers which i was when i first bought the car.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The Split opening tailgate is a good feature. Apart from that the vehicle is very standard and not much gadgets installed.
