Other Citroën C2 (2003 - 2009) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Can be positive or negative! But boy racer comes to mind, especially because of the VTS badge.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Some liked, some didn't, who cares though.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I have sold this car as of Jan 2010. The MPG is quoted at 40mpg. I travel everyday on the motorways and achieve average 37-38 mpg in 5th at 60mph. Terrible economy. Have since bough a Mercedes A170 CDI, which is 2 insurance groups less, cheaper to tax, immense MPG on motorways and town driving and, well, it's a merc!

What are you likely to buy next?

    An A Class, already own.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,850

When did you buy the car?

    July 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Debatable. I didn't really haggle. Having test driven the c2, I was smiling from ear-to-ear and the dealer knew it!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Prior to this, I had a peugeot 206 (X-reg) which completely died on me and needed a new ECU, the value of this plus fitting would have cost more than the car! Also, finished university around that time (2009) and needed a solid car which would last me a long time.

    What was the dealer like?

Nice guy, but they all are! Serviced the car, mot'd it and fully valeted it for when I arrived on the day to pick it up.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very quick acceleration, pulls very well above 3,000 rpm in 2nd / 3rd. Steering is amazingly light. Visibility not too bad, ride is very very harsh on the back!

    What's it like to park?

Easy. The steering being as light as it is means that parallel parking is trouble free.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

A few things worth noting: There are forums on the internet that describe issues with the car - some minor, some not. When the car is cold (especially due to over night frost / snow) the engine would turn over, then stall. It would stall once, then start up fine next go. Also, windscreen wash fuse overloads due to frozen reserve supply, leading to new fuse being changed every time this happened. These are the only things I had issues with.

What's most practical about your car?

Feels larger inside than it actually is.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Air conditioning, alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, not a fan of the metal pedals though.
