    Ford Mondeo or MG ZT - something a little less dull to drive and a lot less likely to burn my wallet regularly!

    Lot of metal for the money due to high mileage and poor residuals.

    Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Very cheap due to high mileage but was in very good condition with full main dealer service history.

    What's it like to drive?

    Good ride and refinement, but don't expect any excitement behind the wheel. Complete lack of low-down torque from engine, which is rough and sounds like a diesel due to direct fuel injection.

    What's it like to park?

    Not great without sensors - you can't see the bonnet or the bootlid and it's a fairly long car.

    Have you had any problems with the car?

    Failed igniters on both xenon headlamps - requires replacement units at over £500 fitted EACH! Following the second failure investigating having xenon lamps replaced with standard halogens (cost quarter as much!). Exhaust pipe split in two whilst on holiday in southern France - french Citroen main dealer charged £1600 for replacement exhaust system!!! 'Anti-pollution fault' - failed oxygen sensor, £150 to fix. Engine misfire - failed coil pack, £300 to fix.

    The space, comfort and equipment levels.

    Computer controlled height-adjustable suspension.
