Other Citroën C5 (2004 - 2008) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

No idea, had about 6 of these, XM's before. They all made perfect sense and none of them have failed to get home even after driving it as far as Ukraine, in one case.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They know i have never followed the rest of the herd very well.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Sadly no, 2008 brings the newer body shape, it is a lot lower so I can't get in one. Even if I could they are a bit wider but you can't get as much junk in them.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Doubt I will get anything.

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    £3,500

When did you buy the car?

    October 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Had several before - so got a good deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Well maintained one with just over 30K in 7 years.

    What was the dealer like?

    Remarkable as always.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Strange - it doesn't seem to need you much but will react quite well if asked to do so.

    What's it like to park?

Not so great, huge snout - and on this one - just rear reverse sensors. Both ends invisible to driver so you have to make best guess.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, looking at the considerable history it's just had the odd bulb etc.

What's most practical about your car?

Blissful comfort, quietness but interesting enough to keep you awake - even if only to marvel as to how kind and considerate it is.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Suspension able to lift entire car body, makes it easy to get out of it, my right knee joint has just gone and have to drive it with hand controls. Big doors mean you can just fall in.
