What does this car say about you?

Maybe it says I'm a bit of an individual. Who wants to pull up at the lights alongside an identical Merc or Beemer which happens all the time? You'd be hard pushed to pull-up alongside another C6, and if you ever did, you'd smile at each other in acknowledgement of your excellent taste in cars.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

A work colleague had the temerity to compare the C6 with his BMW 7 series and conclude the Citroen was ugly - the Prat! It's a truly beautiful futuristic design which still reflects the big Citroens of the past.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, I would. It drives with such non-chalance over the most dreadful UK roads that makes you realise it would cope with anything you could throw at it. It leaves me at peace, and a much more attentive and safe driver.

What are you likely to buy next?

It would be heresy to consider a future purchase whilst only having had the C6 for two months. At the moment, contrary to my past history, I really think I'll keep this one a lot longer than normal. Until Citroen bring out another "big" Citroen to drool over, of course!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £14,987

When did you buy the car?

    August 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Having bided my time since the launch, the market has seen a considerable volume of Lignage's become available at excellent prices.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Ever since the C6 was launched in 2006 I wanted one, but waited for the infamous Citroen depreciation to take effect so I could benefit and boy, have I benefitted!

    What was the dealer like?

I bought from a well-established family owned franchised dealership who treated me very well.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Wonderful, restful, smooth, powerful, commanding, safe, gorgeous... I could go on but having just driven a C1 courtesy car it made me appreciate the C6 even more.

    What's it like to park?

No problems thanks to the front and rear parking aides.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The dealership replaced a rear light lense because I spotted a small crack. There was one outstanding manufacturer's recall which was dealt with immediately it became known about and the ABS warning light is coming on intermittently. A new ABS sensor is now on back-order to resolve this issue.

What's most practical about your car?

I'm not sure any one aspect of the car is particularly "practical" but there's oodles of space, power and a certain "laid-back" aura whichs makes me realise I made the right decision buying it each time I get in it!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Because it's the Lignage, it doesn't have satnav but by all accounts that's a bit fiddly to operate until you're used to it. I use my trusty TomTom which gets excellent satellite reception through the screen. I had an MP3 converter box fitted so my iPhone can be played through the audio system although it "chirrups" at each change of track despite Citroen claiming it's compatible, I reckon it's not.
