  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Cheap car, cheap insurance. PAS, CD player, electric windows, sunroof, fog lights. fully colour coded bodywork. You don't really need much more. Air-con would be nice but not essential.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Parts and servicing can be a bit pricey if you go to a Citroen main dealer.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good all round visibility. Comfy on long journeys. Pedals are a bit close I have to wear slim trainers for driving and have average size feet. Front legroom is adequate but a bit cramped in the back. I've had 5 people in and a full boot and it was fine.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent for a 1.1 litre engine as the car hardly weighs anything. Not many cars under a 1.4 are as fast.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Excellent. Not one thing has gone wrong with my car since we picked it up and it has been put through a lot.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Popular to modify, visually and performance wise. Looks best with the bodykit that comes on the Furio, VTR and VTS models.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very comfy seats front and back. Soft suspension is nice sometimes but at other times it can be a bit too soft.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Only has central locking as standard. Could do with an alarm and maybe an immobiliser.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Bit expensive but no complaints.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    None.

    Other

Not a problem but the engine cooling system isn't great. The fan is always coming on and it doesn't seem to be a problem with just my car. You can tell when there's a Saxo near you because the fan is used so much and is so noisy.

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    Yes

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?

    Yes
