Would you buy this car again and why?

no but deffo hooked on power now.Never going back to a 1.1 or 1.4 again.

What are you likely to buy next?

clio 182 or audi tt. I more on the clio 182 tho, audi tt seems alot of money with a slower 0-60 and clio 182 seems to be a much better value for money car so I probably go with the 182.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £2,700

When did you buy the car?

    January 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Saxos are very reliable cars. I've owned a saxo 1.1 eastcoast before for 4 years and it never missed a beat. I've owned VTR now for over 2 years and no problems with it. It's just sailed through a mot. Ignore what the haters say about them, usually from a ford guy. I've owned a ford fiesta and ford escort and I can say the saxo is better.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Had a saxo 1.1 before and it was reliable and nice to drive. I was originally buying a 2003 black saxo VTS, but after test driving one, I didn't think it was worth the huge difference in tax and insurance for the same performance!!

    What was the dealer like?

    I paid with cash.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Reach 4,800 RPM in 1st and 2nd gear and it gives you a right kick up the backside, it's great!. Faster car than people say it is. Climbs to 100mph in no time. The paper stats of this car is BS. 0-60 9.1? I've beat a 2008 ford fiesta ST from 0-60, they do 0-60 7.9. I raced the st well upto 110mph and I was a cars length ahead. Top speed is not 120mph, I've done 127mph indicated and it was still pulling. Handling is excellent. The power steering is SO light, you can steer the car with your fingertips! The sound of the 100bhp engine when you put your foot down sounds great. The torque is mighty impressive, 4th gear at 25mph just apply the throttle right and it picks up real quick and leaves 1.2 - 1.4's corsa's for dead that are in 2nd gear!! Really impressive car to drive

    What's it like to park?

Small car with power steering , what do you think?

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

you don't get problems with saxo's

What's most practical about your car?

The mpg for the speed. This is just as good on fuel as the saxo 1.1 I had before, but with such a huge difference in torque and top end power. The performance also doesn't seem to bother with alot of people in it or whole shopping. The performance still very lively and uphills is where you notice the bigger engine's power.
