Second hand prices are dropping nicely, but still quite expensive on average.

It certainly likes to drink fuel compared to other 1.4 family cars.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent road handling. Nice light steering. Slight understeer at times, but because of stiffish supsension for the sporty feel, it lacks comfort at low speeds. Depends on what you're after.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Nippy engine for a heavyish car / small engine. Certainly adequate for long trips / city driving.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Apart from the suposed cambelt failure problem I keep hearing about, it's given me no problems at all so far.

Nice sporty 3 door look. Could do with a spoiler as standard, like on the HLX models and such.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Suspension is more geared up for handling, so ride comfort is slightly neglected, but nothing major - still a nice comfy ride.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

You get a Fiat immobiliser as stanard, but an extra Thatcham Cat 1 alarm / immobiliser would be a nice purchase for it.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

Supposed cambelt + tensioner failure. They don't reach the 72k miles the manuals tell you.
