  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Size, flexibility and standard items make up for higher cost in this class of car. Recent trade-in reveals big depreciation though - 45% in 1 year!

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

    Cheap to run and insure.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Very good, apart from comfort issue on longer journies - see below.

    Performance

    1 out of 5 1.0

1.4 petrol has to driven hard to get decent performance. I've subsequently tried the 1.4 TDCI and this is VASTLY superior.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

No issues apart from tailgate release failed. Fixed under warranty.

Hmm. Looks better from the back. Black lower front bumper makes it look naff head-on.

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Short journeys are fine. Long are a problem - front centre floor console leaves insufficient room between left foot and clutch pedal. Also, the height of the console digs into the calf and causes me a dead leg after more than 2 hours.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Nothing to comment on - intergrated hi-fi is a good idea!

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

I like Ford - what can I say? Not impressed with treatment when I complained about dead-leg issue so on this point, I would mark as a 2.
