What does this car say about you?

Thats I'm an Essex boy with a modicum of sophistication. And a sensible side.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Thats I'm an Essex boy.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No I wouldn't, because life is short and I want to drive one car for the rest of all time. Though I would reccomend it to other freshly qualified drivers. Which I was at the time. Also this car does drink a bit more petrol than you'd think, though I blame this on the fact most of my driving.

What are you likely to buy next?

Honda Civic (2.2 Diesel) EX GT.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,800

When did you buy the car?

    June 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

I opted out of their "1 year warranty" which had inflated the price by about £200. Though they were practically begging me to take it back.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I needed a set of wheels to take me where public transport wouldn't. And a motorcycle just wasn't an option (I want to keep my legs intact, thank you).

    What was the dealer like?

There were two. One was a decent straight forward chap. His partner was a cocky, full of himself slack jawed yokel. It was a mixed experience.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Nippy in town, and powerful enough on the motorway. Glad I got the 1.6 and not the 1.4. Though the 1.25 to 1.4 are good in town, you really need the power of the 1.6 for overtaking at speed on the motorway. The engine makes a lovely sound when revved in the lower gears. Car handles very well, the hydraulic stearing gives you a really good feel for the road and intuitive feedback. A lot nicer than the electric steering of the current model, which feels floaty at times. If you can work the gears right, than this is a quick car and you can pull away at the lights like the USS Enterprise. A rewarding drive if you want one. The ride can be a little bumpy for rear seat passengers at times.

    What's it like to park?

Its easy to park with great visibility all round. Excellent turning circle. Good for fitting into the smaller spaces. Its slightly boxy shape means you can easily see where the car begins and ends.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Thankfully no, I have been pretty happy with it and its been reliable to date. (1 year after purchase). Some blistering of the alloy's but this is cosmetic and not greatly visible.

What's most practical about your car?

The fact that its a five door hatchback, means you can get five people in without a struggle. The boot is a decent size for this kind of car.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Rain sensative windscreen wiper's, Automatic headlights, Leather Interior, Remote locking and Boot Release. A very powerful Heating/Air con system.
